Psst… something festive is hiding behind the birch trees 🎄
A Little Christmas Secret… Behind the Birch Trees
We know, we know… it's only October! Some of you are still clinging happily to autumn, enjoying the changing leaves and not remotely ready to hear the word Christmas. And we completely understand. But we also know that some of you have been quietly waiting, perhaps even counting down the days, until the decorations make their appearance.
And so, tucked away behind the birch trees, we've opened up a little festive corner for those who simply can't wait.
We've already earned something of a reputation for finding rather fabulous Christmas decorations, and this year we've been busy gathering another beautiful collection of treasures. Think thoughtful craftsmanship, a little nostalgia, plenty of character and, of course, a sprinkling of festive magic.
So, for the Christmas enthusiasts, the early planners and those who just can't resist a beautiful bauble, here's a little peek at what's waiting…
There’s something really lovely about our fair trade felt decorations. Handmade and full of personality, each one has its own little details and character. They’re tactile, colourful and easy to mix into any tree, whether you’re adding to a collection, choosing a thoughtful gift or simply picking the ones that make you smile.
Wooden & Metal Decorations – Christmas with Character
If your Christmas tree has room for a little mischief, colour and conversation, this is the collection for you. Our wooden decorations are anything but traditional in the predictable sense, think lucky cats, sardine tins, Russian dolls, magpies and even the wonderfully eccentric Krampus.
Alongside them are beautifully hand-painted mango wood hearts, stars and baubles, plus delicate metal pieces decorative treasures chosen to be kept, enjoyed and brought out Christmas after Christmas.
Paper decorations have a special kind of magic. Light, delicate and endlessly charming, they bring texture, movement and a little theatrical flourish to festive decorating. This year we're especially excited about the beautiful Bloomsbury-inspired designs from East End Press, celebrating the creative world of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant and the upcoming exhibition at Tate Britain. Full of expressive pattern, joyful colour and artistic spirit, these designs are a lovely meeting of art and Christmas tradition. Whether strung across a mantelpiece, hung from a shelf or mixed in with your tree decorations, they’re an easy way to bring colour, pattern and a little extra interest to your Christmas decorating.
Christmas Cards - The Joy of Something Through the Letterbox
And finally, let's not forget the lovely tradition of sending a Christmas card. In a world of quick messages and digital greetings, there's still something rather wonderful about a handwritten note arriving through the letterbox. We've gathered a beautiful selection of Christmas cards, from individual designs chosen especially for someone to lovely boxed sets for working your way through the Christmas card list. Whether you're wonderfully organised or a last-minute scribbler, we hope you'll find something that makes sending a little festive cheer a pleasure.
